Hi, I’m Daniel M. Garcia, the managing attorney at Garcia & Garcia Law Firm. With over 15 years in criminal law, I’ve dedicated my career to protecting the rights of my clients and guiding them through some of the most challenging times in their lives. Licensed in Arizona, Minnesota, and Illinois,  if you are facing serious criminal charges or navigating complex legal issues, I’m here to fight for you every step of the way.

My Journey Into Law

Born and raised in Cottonwood, Arizona, I began my legal career in 2010 as a prosecutor with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office in Chicago, Illinois. My first assignment was in the criminal appeals division, where I drafted and filed appellate responses on behalf of the state. From there, I transitioned to trial work in Chicago’s 1st Municipal District and later in the Bridgeview District. During that time, I handled thousands of misdemeanor cases—ranging from DUIs to aggravated assaults—and successfully brought over 100 cases to trial.

In 2013, I returned to my home state of Arizona after obtaining my Arizona law license and joined the Coconino County Attorney’s Office in Flagstaff. There, I prosecuted a wide range of felony cases, including aggravated DUIs, violent felonies, and homicides. One of my most memorable cases was a three-month-long gang-related murder trial, where I served as co-counsel. I later became the lead prosecutor of the drug interdiction unit, overseeing large-scale drug trafficking cases and working closely with state and federal law enforcement on undercover investigations, including Operation Nightfall.

My Transition to Criminal Defense

In 2017, I made the decision to shift from prosecution to criminal defense because I wanted to help people facing some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Since then, I have fiercely defended individuals in both Arizona’s State Superior Court and Federal Court, with a strong focus on drug trafficking, smuggling, and other serious felony cases.

My approach is aggressive and strategic—I have worked tirelessly to secure reduced plea agreements and case dismissals for my clients during pretrial proceedings. With over 100 criminal trials to my name, I am always prepared to take a case to trial to fight for the best possible outcome.

My Commitment to the Immigrant Community

As the son of a Mexican immigrant and a naturalized U.S. citizen, I have a deep understanding of the challenges faced by Arizona’s Spanish-speaking community. Throughout my career, I have represented many clients within this community and witnessed firsthand the language and cultural barriers they often encounter in the criminal justice system.

Being fluent in both Spanish and English, I make sure my clients fully understand their rights and legal options. I have also worked closely with immigration attorneys to understand the long-term consequences that criminal charges can have on those navigating the immigration process. My goal is to protect not only my clients’ legal rights but also their futures.
