Janee Garcia – Advocate for Justice

Hi, I’m Janee Garcia, co-founder of Garcia & Garcia Law Firm and a dedicated attorney with over a decade of legal experience. I’m from Mesa, Arizona, and I focus on providing compassionate yet aggressive representation to individuals facing life’s most challenging circumstances, particularly in cases involving domestic violenceorders of protection, and advocating for victims of abuse. My mission is to empower and protect my clients, ensuring their rights and safety are upheld every step of the way.

My Journey to Co-Founding Garcia & Garcia Law Firm

After graduating from law school in Michigan in 2008, I returned to Arizona to begin my legal career. My first position as a prosecutor was with the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community in Scottsdale, where I developed a passion for protecting victims of domestic violence and crimes against children. It was there that I gained valuable trial experience and honed my skills in building strong, evidence-based cases.

In 2014, I joined the Yavapai County Attorney’s Office in Prescott, where I prosecuted cases ranging from misdemeanors to felonies, including DUIs and domestic violence. I was later promoted to the Juvenile Crimes Division, where I was responsible for handling both misdemeanor and felony cases across Prescott and the Verde Valley. One of the most significant cases I prosecuted involved felony sexual assault against a minor – an experience that solidified my commitment to advocating for justice and protecting vulnerable individuals.

I later returned to Indian Country as a prosecutor for the Yavapai-Apache Nation, handling a variety of adult criminal cases and juvenile matters. During this time, I pursued advanced training in domestic violence prosecution, including completing the Investigation and Prosecution of Strangulation in Indian Country program through the U.S. Department of Justice.

In 2016, I joined the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, where I was promoted to the Major Crimes, Special Victims Division, Family Violence Bureau – East. There, I specialized in prosecuting complex cases involving domestic violencechild abuse, and dangerous crimes against children, including child homicide and stalking. This experience required me to navigate high-stakes situations, work with victims facing significant trauma, and handle cases where even the smallest detail could make or break an outcome.

How My Prosecution Experience Benefits You

My years as a prosecutor give me a unique perspective and a significant advantage as a criminal defense attorney. I’ve handled hundreds of criminal cases, including high-stakes felonies, and I understand exactly how prosecutors think, build cases, and approach trials. This insider knowledge allows me to anticipate strategies, identify weaknesses in the prosecution’s case, and develop a tailored defense that works in your favor.
I’ve seen how cases unfold on both sides of the courtroom, and I know what it takes to protect your rights and fight for the best possible outcome. Whether you’re facing misdemeanor charges or more serious felony accusations, I bring the expertise, insight, and tenacity you need in your corner.
